About Alvin Ureles

Alvin L. Ureles is a Professor of Medicine Emeritus at The University of Rochester School Of Medicine. He is married, with three children and six grandchildren, and has spent his life as a teacher and clinician. He is a former Avery Hopwood Literary Award Winner at the University of Michigan, author of a book of poetry, Ectopic Rhythms and a spy thriller, The Mizar Project. Having served in the Pacific Theater at the end of World War II, he witnessed the devastation of Hiroshima, and returned to pursue research in nuclear medicine as a Harvard Fellow. Following Joe is the first in a trilogy exploring the origins of The U.S. Army Medical Corps.
